Hey, I was there, too! Although we were up on the West Lawn of the Capitol, so our snaps came from a much different perspective. I love the feathery nature of the fireworks & the mirror image in the reflecting pool. And the cellphones/digital cameras add an immediacy to the snap, don’t you think?
How cool! Yeah, I had some other shots without all the people in the foreground, but I really liked how they added a sense of scale. The cell phones do add some interest as well.
Great pic Dave!! Looks like you got the primo spot, must have got there early. . . I was in DC for the 4th 20 years ago and thought they had the most amazing fireworks display!!
Thanks, Steve. We had to wait there for 3 hours to get that spot, but it was worth it. And you can’t spend 3 hours at the Lincoln Memorial on the 4th of July and not come away with some great stories!
